Description3 sections: barrel, one-piece body, and bell. Boxwood body and nickel-silver keywork and ferrules. Romero system (modified Boehm) with 16 touchpieces (for 28 toneholes), 7 rings, and at least 24 adjustment screws. No G-sharp key.
Distinguished clarinetist and inventor Antonio Maria Romero y Andía (1815-1886) sought to improve several perceived shortcomings of the Boehm system clarinet, for which he colaborated with craftsman Paul Alphonse Bié (1824-1893), foreman and sucessor to Lefêvre.
