Description2 sections: slide and bell. Gold-plated brass. Probably Finish Deluxe: gold plated, burnished, superbly engraved with all engraving brought out in sandblast. No slide lock. Bow guard on the bottom of the slide section with a bumper ball. Main tuning slide device in slide segment: the Holton “Touch-of-the-Thumb” device; mother-of-pearl inlay button. Patent #1,652,306. The thumb lever controls a rod that can be secured via a notch system. One coil spring water key with cork pad on first bow.

ProvenanceThe donor's father purchased the trombone, along with several other instruments, ca. 1973, from his daughter-in-law's grandmother, Mrs. Harvey Cutshall, who was going to auction off items she had in storage. According to the donor, the original owner was Harvey Walton Cutshall and he made violins, and he collected this horn during the 1920s.
