DescriptionThis cornet is the only known surviving example of the one-star "Ne Plus Ultra" model, the earliest of the models with this name. The Initials, "J. N. W." are engraved on the plate soldered across the valve tubing.

Short leadpipe to accommodate shanks and crooks.
Main tuning slide at narrow second bow
Three top-action string-operated rotary valves; double-cork with two stop pins.
