Christopher Adam Gerock (b ?Ritzfeld bei Weinsberg, Germany, c1772/3; d London, England, March 27, 1850)

German ancestry. Father: Jacob Gerock of Ritzfield, near Weinsberg, Germany; wine cooper.

In London in 1795.

Naturalized by Act of Parliament in 1804.

Granted freedom of the Company of Musicians in 1804.

"Small worker" silver hallmark 'CG' at Goldsmith's Hall in 1831.

Son-in-law Robert Wolf, employee in 1828, married daughter Sabrina Susannah in 1831.

Gerock and Wolf collaborated with Theobald Boehm for a "Newly-Invented Patent Flute" (1831 - no patent granted though), and an improvement of the pianoforte by cross-stringing (1834).

Retired in 1837, succeeded by Robert Wolf & Co.
