DescriptionBrass, German silver, single loop, tuning slide at first bow (alternative for B-flat or A), three Berlin piston valves (1, ½, 1½), screw alignment.
This instrument closely follows the original model of the Prussian cornet, developed by Wilhelm Wieprecht and made by Johann Gottfried and Carl Wilhelm Moritz in Berlin. Of particular note are the almost entirely conical bell with very little flare and the curved leadpipe.
