DescriptionBrass, German silver, double loop, tuning slide at first bow, S-shaped leadpipe, three Berlin valves (1, ½, 1½), screw alignment.
The fairly narrow bore of this instrument qualifies it as an alto cornet, rather than an alto horn. Alto cornets of this design were offered by the firm of Schuster & Co. in Markneukirchen and were based on Berlin models by Carl Wilhelm Moritz.
