The large bell and funnel-shaped mouthpiece are characteristics of a horn-type instrument, the tubing is arranged in cylindrical steps of increasing diameter.
Max Enders, the successor to Carl August Müller in Mainz, was active from about 1900 until after 1935, being listed as Hessian Court Instrument maker in 1900.
