DescriptionBrass; garland with serrated upper edge and scallop-shell decoration; Saxon rim with iron wire insert; ferrules with impressed and engraved lines. Originally with block and binding (lost).
A certain dilettantish appearance suggests that this natural trumpet was built by a non-professional maker. The Saxon rim might point to its origin from Saxony.
