Launched in early 1990, the Lyons C clarinet was designed by Graham Lyons, a British teacher, player, and composer. By 2008 it had emerged as the "Nuvo Clarineo," manufactured by Nuvo Instrumental in Hong Kong. The radical new design was pitched in C, with the idea that music can be played off of piano, vocal, and recorder music, and the instrument would be more accessible for children.
