DescriptionSilver-plated brass, mother-of-pearl finger buttons, single/double loop, main tuning slide at first bow (C setting) or alternatively small addition loop between leadpipe and main tuning slide for B-flat setting with quick-change to A stop rod, fixed leadpipe, three Périnet valves (1, ½, 1½), top-sprung, spring inside hollow stem, alignment by two unequal lugs on spring anchor plate, nickel-plated brass pistons, single water key at C main tuning slide, windway 3-2-1.

This "Lyric LONG MODEL C, Bb AND A CORNET NO. 590 with Finish III – Triple silver-plated, sand blast velvet finish, bell interior hand burnished" features a B-flat/A tuning slide loop that can be removed. When removed, the instrument is in C. The patent likely refers to J. W. York’s US patent no. 963,768 from July 12, 1910 for a "pitch changer."
