DescriptionBrass; narrow garland, lower edge flush with bell end, not folded over; bell rim with half-round wire; ferrules with engraved lines.
This instrument is a copy of the earliest folded European trumpet known to survive, made by Marian Guitbert in Limoges in 1442 (private ownership in France). It can be assembled either as a single loop trumpet, as shown here, in s-shape or in the shape of a trombone.
