The True-Tone Buescher-Grand Cornet came in two different bore sizes, no. 15 (larger bore, NMM 2383), and no. 16 (smaller bore, this instrument). According to a Buescher True-Tone Newsletter of 1915 (volume 10, no. 1, p. 9) the larger bore was the standard, while the smaller bore was for solo and orchestra use.
