Fixed s-shaped leadpipe; main tuning slide at forward-pointing first bow; quick-change to A slide at backward-pointing second bow with adjustment ring to regulate the slide extension; main tubing enters third valve and exits first; stepped, knuckled-out porting

The True-Tone Buescher-Grand Cornet came in two different bore sizes, no. 15 (larger bore, NMM 2383), and no. 16 (smaller bore, this instrument). According to a Buescher True-Tone Newsletter of 1915 (volume 10, no. 1, p. 9) the larger bore was the standard, while the smaller bore was for solo and orchestra use.
