DescriptionDark-stained boxwood in four sections. Simple system keywork, originally with four silver keys (D#, F, G#, B-flat) with square heads, mounted in a turned ring and turned blocks. However, the D# key has not survived. The pads consist of a flat piece of leather pierced by a screw attached to the key head, and secured by a disc-like button. The tenons point downwards (in other words, the head joint carries a tenon, rather than the usual socket). Ivory ferrules and screw cork adjuster. These larger flutes were used for chamber music, such as a number of trios arranged for third flute in E-flat, concert flute, and tenor flute, published by Monzani.
