This trumpet was made for and used by virtuoso jazz trumpeter Wallace Roney (1960-2020). It is a special line of Martin Committee trumpets, with origins linked to the Martin Band Instrument Co. in the 1940s, revived by Leblanc in the mid-1970s. The lack of special engravings or decorations suggests this was one of Roney's working instruments, or probably one of the first redesigned prototypes designed in conjunction with product chief engineer Larry Ramirez (1938-2023). Although the mouthpiece receiver indicates the larger bore model number, the trumpet is actually a medium bore instrument. The instrument is accompanied by an original black leather soft bag with customized Roney name strips.

This was the first Martin Committee model trumpet made for jazz trumpeter Wallace Roney (1960-2020) by the Martin Division of the G. Leblanc Corporation. Although this instrument does not have any special engravings, Roney confirmed he made many records with this trumpet, making it one of his working instruments.
