DescriptionBrass, German silver, S-shaped first loop followed by oval bell, tuning slide at second bow, three rotary valves (1, ½, 1½), horseshoe stop, Cologne spiral-spring return.
This oval flugelhorn or Kuhlohorn in B-flat represents model 03 00250, type 05000, in brass with nickel silver trimming and three spiral-spring rotary valves. Based on the serial number and information provided by Miraphone eG, the instrument was built in 1982 or 1983. “MIRAPHONE” or “MIRAFONE” was founded in 1948 by thirteen brasswind makers who were expelled from Graslitz, Bohemia, and who decided to continue their craft in Waldkraiburg, Bavaria, near Munich.
