Fairchild of Elkhorn, Wisconsin. Fairchild's valves enter and exit on the same side of the piston shaft and are aligned vertically. According to the patent, this design makes the tone clearer and purer, and requires less effort in producing the sound compared with the ordinary construction. The alignment of the valve ports also simplifies production. Fairchild may have worked for the Frank Holton Company in Elkhorn, Wisconsin.
