DescriptionGerman silver, circular bow, double loop, tuning slide at narrow second bow, removable shanks, three side-action (lever over) string-operated rotary valves (1, ½, 1½), double cork, spiral-spring return
Two tuning shanks for B-flat and A; silver cornet mouthpiece (contemporary with instrument).
Typical circular-bow cornet. Hall and Quinby in Boston, a partnership that existed from 1866 until 1875, played a pivotal role in developing this cornet design.
