Description3 sections: upper joint, bottom joint, and bell. Boxwood body with ivory ferrules and finial. Brass keywork. Body profile with bulb-shaped top baluster, and bell with prominent rim and double flare. Fifteen keys, counting the touchpieces: low A, low B-flat, low B, low C, C#, E-flat, left-hand E-flat, F, left-hand F, F# corrector, G#, B-flat with duplicate touchpiece, C, and speaker key. Keys mounted in woodblocks and partial turned rings. Low B-flat and low A keys are operated by the right thumb. Tuning slide in the top joint. One of the turned blocks supporting the two lowest keys is encased in a brass cover with integral thumb rest. Metal-lined reed receiver.
