MarkingsHallmarks: two: diamond shape H. Villette with “E#C” for E. Chambille in center and rounded boar's head (which means "silver of Paris”)
Hallmarks do not distinguish the maker, but rather the owners. E. Chambille was the senior owner of the company during the E. Barat era.

Head: lip plate right side edge and just below end cap
Body: top ferrule of socket and on sides of following keys: LH thumb Bb, LH thumb C, G#, Bb trill
Foot: bottom most ferrule
Description3 sections: headjoint, one-piece body and barrel, and foot joint. Cylindrical Boehm system with open holes. French silver (Britannia silver) body and keywork. Seamed tubing. Soldered toneholes. 15 touchpieces. Inline G. Closed G-sharp. Briccialdi B-flat key. Trill keys: B-flat, D, D-sharp. C-foot.

This Boehm system flute belonged to Geroges Laurent, principal flutist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) under Serge Koussevitzky. Louis Lot refined Clair Godfroy’s version of the Boehm flute, introducing elements still used today:
open-tone holes and the embouchure plate. Many famous U.S. and European flutists owned Lot flutes.
